About Us

Pati Palmer
The Palmer/Pletsch International School of Sewing began in 1991 as a result of Tony Bosboom, owner of The Fabric Depot. Tony offered a classroom to Pati Palmer for the Palmer/Pletsch four to five day Sewing Vacations held ten times a year. Students from around the world come to take these Palmer/Pletsch Sewing Vacation Workshops.
Tony then asked Pati to operate a full-service sewing school between the Vacation Workshops. Since Pati had no more time in her life, she asked Julie Foglio to manage the sewing school. Since then, the Palmer/Pletsch School of Sewing has been offering 1-day or several week courses and special events. Classes include fashion, sewing, knitting, quilting, and home decorating. Students from all around the Portland, Oregon area come learn to sew and quilt throughout the year.
If you want to learn to sew or learn to quilt the Palmer/Pletsch School of Sewing is a great place to start. The instructors will guide you along in the process and teach you how to create something beautiful from start to finish.
